Absolute Zero

Jeff Fahey, Erika Eleniak
(c) 2006 Zero Street Productions
has the look of a made-for-tv movie, but long long enough to have played as a miniseries. Maybe it went just two nights - I can see them spreading it for two evenings, what with commericals and all that.
other than that, it seems like a very very silly spinoff of Day After Tomorrow. With the blurb on the cover:
MIAMI'S NEVER BEEN SO COLD
you kind of know what to expect.
I mean, it starts with the ice sheet cracking at the pole - JUST LIKE DAY AFTER TOMORROW. For a second there I thought I was watching some pre-production screenings, but then when I got into it, I realized that this movie was just wonderfully silly.
So - watch it for that. The actors play their roles so earnestly, though, that you just gotta love 'em.
Especially that one scientist, right when he gets his car whipped away by the wind. With him in it.
All in all . . . it's kind of cool
but not ABSOLUTE ZERO (if you get my
drift!)
